Frequently Asked Questions

Everything travelers ask us before booking — answered honestly.

Is Egypt safe for tourists in 2026?

Yes. The main tourist regions — Cairo, Giza, Luxor, Aswan, and Red Sea resorts — are heavily protected and see millions of visitors each year. We monitor US State Department advisories daily and design routes accordingly. Our in-country coordinator is available 24/7 during your trip.

Do I need a visa to enter Egypt?

US, UK, EU, Canadian and Australian citizens can obtain an e-visa online in about 20 minutes at visa2egypt.gov.eg (USD 25). Alternatively, a visa-on-arrival is available at Cairo airport. We include full visa guidance in your pre-departure pack.

When is the best time to visit Egypt?

October–April offers the most comfortable temperatures (18–28°C / 65–82°F) and clear skies. May–September is hot inland (35°C+) but excellent value; Red Sea resorts remain enjoyable year-round.

How much does an Egypt trip cost?

Our private tours start at $890 for a 4-day Cairo city break and average $2,200–$3,500 for a full 8–10 day trip including 4-star hotels, guiding, transport, entrance fees and internal flights. International flights are quoted separately.

Do you book international flights?

We can, and it's often the easiest option. We're not a discount consolidator, so if flight price is your top priority we may recommend you book direct — we'll happily advise on best routings.

What is the tipping culture in Egypt?

Tipping ("baksheesh") is customary. On our all-inclusive itineraries, guide and driver gratuities are already included. For hotel staff and Nile cruise crew, we provide a suggested tipping card in your welcome pack (~$5–10 per day, per traveler).

Can you accommodate dietary restrictions?

Absolutely. We regularly host vegetarian, vegan, gluten-free, kosher and halal travelers. Just note requirements at booking; we brief every hotel and cruise ship in advance.

What's your cancellation policy?

Full refund up to 60 days before departure minus a $200 admin fee. 60–30 days: 50% refund. Under 30 days: non-refundable, but we'll credit you for a future trip within 24 months. We strongly recommend travel insurance.

Is drone photography allowed?

Personal drones are prohibited in Egypt without a permit. If you want aerial footage of your trip, we can arrange a licensed local operator for specific sites — advance notice required.

Do you offer travel insurance?

We don't sell insurance directly, but we recommend two US providers (World Nomads and Allianz) and include their comparison in your booking pack. Insurance is not required but strongly encouraged.
