You can opt to float over Luxor in a hot air balloon first thing this morning before you visit the West Bank; where 64 ancient Egyptian rulers lie buried in the Valley of the Kings including the burial chamber of Tutankhamen. Standing like guards along the road to the Valley of Kings, you’ll also marvel at the Colossi of Memnon, impressive statues of Amenhotep that tower 75 feet above the desert sands.

Today your Egyptologist will guide you to explore the extraordinary Temple of Horus at Edfu, the falcon-headed god and the most completely preserved Pharaonic temple (albeit Greek-built). Enjoy lunch while sailing to Kom ombo which is dedicated to the crocodile god Sobek and you can still view the remains of an ancient mummified crocodile, which was worshipped here thousands of years ago. It was built on the honor of two deities the crocodile-headed Sobek, god of fertility and creator of the world, and Haroeris or the ancient falcon-headed Horus. After leisurely breakfast, start you tour with a visit to Aswan high dam, an engineering miracle when it was built in the 1960s. The dam spans the Nile River, more than two miles across and incorporating 16 times the amount of material that went into the Great Pyramid at Giza.
