You can opt to float over Luxor in a hot air balloon first thing this morning before you visit the West Bank; where 64 ancient Egyptian rulers lie buried in the Valley of the Kings including the burial chamber of Tutankhamen. Archaeologist Howard Carter discovered his intact and treasure -filled tomb in 1922. If you wish to visit King Tutankhamen and Ramses VI tombs, an additional cost is payable direct. West bank’s touring also includes the spectacular Funerary Temple of Queen Hatshepsut, Egypt’s only female ruler, rising out of the desert plain in a series of terraces. There is free time to explore at your leisure as you wander the large courtyards and admire the intricate hieroglyphic decorations. Standing like guards along the road to the Valley of Kings, you’ll also marvel at the Colossi of Memnon, impressive statues of Amenhotep that tower 75 feet above the desert sands.

Today your Egyptologist will guide you to explore the extraordinary Temple of Horus at Edfu, the falcon-headed god and the most completely preserved Pharaonic temple (albeit Greek-built).  According to the Egyptian myths, it was the place where the falcon-headed god Horus revenged the murder of his father Osiris by killing Seth.

Enjoy lunch while sailing to Kom ombo which is dedicated to the crocodile god Sobek and you can still view the remains of an ancient mummified crocodile, which was worshipped here thousands of years ago. It was built on the honor of two deities the crocodile-headed Sobek, god of fertility and creator of the world, and Haroeris or the ancient falcon-headed Horus. Tonight, enjoy a special Egyptian Galabeya Party. Overnight in Kom Ombo.

MEAL PLAN: BREAKFAST & LUNCH & DINNER
