Today we tour the Pyramids at Giza, the planet’s oldest tourist attraction. The largest is Khufu (Cheops), constructed from 2.5 million quarried limestone blocks, weighing in at a mammoth 6 million tonnes it is thought to have taken more than 20 years to construct. The other two – Chephren and Mycerinus are equally impressive. Climb up a camel for the ride of your life and visit the fascinating Solar Boat Museum, site of Cheops’s funerary boat. After a delightful lunch, we continue on to the famous Egyptian Museum to view the preserved treasures of King Tutankhamen and his legendary funerary mask. Those with a stronger stomach can also opt to see the eerie Royal Mummy room, where nine mummified bodies of ancient royals can be seen on display. If you wish to visit the Royal room, you will need to purchase a separate ticket.

This morning fly to Abu Simbel, possibly the most awe-inspiring temple of all ancient Egypt, built to revere the mighty King Ramses II. Upon arrival you will be met by our local representatives and transferred to your cruise boat that will be your home for the next three nights. Here you’ll board your 5 star cruiser and have lunch on board before embarking on a guided tour of the mighty temples of Abu Simbel. Afternoon tea is served on the sundeck. Abu Simbel– Lake Nasser. the world’s largest artificial lake. This morning set sail on Lake Nasser. The first of many hidden gems you’ll see is Kasr Ibrim, an ancient Nubian citadel. Information about the site is provided from the ship’s sundeck as entrance to the site is not permitted. En route to Wadi El Seboua, explore the Temple of Amada, the oldest of Lake Nasser’s monuments and home to some of the most finely and vibrant reliefs. Spend the remainder of the day enjoying a cocktail party and live music performances in the lounge bar on board.

This morning explore the temple of Wadi El Seboua which was dedicated by Ramses II to the two Gods Amon Ra and Ra Harmakis. The temple features a sphinx-lined avenue and was once converted to a church by early Christians. Returning to the ship, relax and sip cocktails as you cross the Tropic of Cancer, bound for the Nubian city of Aswan.

Lake Nasser – Aswan. Welcome to Aswan! After breakfast we disembark and enjoy a trip to the mighty High Dam and Philae Temple. Philae was originally the site of an ancient temple complex that had to be dismantled and relocated to Agilkia Island after flooding caused by the High Dam project. Check in to your hotel in Aswan and enjoy the rest of the day at leisure.

After Breakfast we will transfer to Luxor , stopping en route to visit the unique double Temple of Kom Ombo, dedicated to the crocodile-god Sobek, where in ancient times sacred crocodiles basked in the sun on the riverbank, followed by a chance to explore the largest and most completely preserved at Edfu, which is dedicated to the falcon-headed god Horus and was one of the last monumental temples, built on a large scale.

At over 4,000 years old, Luxor is ancient Egypt at its very best! In the morning, join Your Egyptologist on a journey of discovery through the huge temple complex of Karnak. Wonder at the obelisks, huge columned Great Hypostyle Hall and the sacred lake, after that your Egyptologist will guide you on a tour of the strikingly graceful Temple of Luxor dedicated to the god Amun. .This afternoon is yours to do as you please! This morning, You can opt to float over Luxor in ahot air ballon before visit to the West Bank of Luxor to explore the Valley of the Kings, a vast City of the Dead where magnificent tombs were carved into the desert rocks, decorated richly, and filled with treasures for the afterlife by generations of Pharaohs, the Temple of Queen Hatshepsut (Ancient Egypt’s only female Pharaoh) merges with the sheer limestone cliffs that surround it, as if nature herself had built this extraordinary monument. On the way back to the river Nile, your road passes by the famed Colossi of Memnon, known in Ancient Greek times for their haunting voices at dawn. The rest of the day is at leisure .

Luxor – Cairo. We fly back to Cairo, upon arrival; tour the Citadel of Saladdin, the Alabaster Mosque of Mohammed Ali, . Learn of its awesome history as you admire the wondrous minarets reaching into the sky and magnificent domes sparkling in the sunlight. Then immerse yourself into the winding alleys of the Khan el Khalili Bazaar, the hub of everyday activity, Rest of the day at leisure.
