After a delightful lunch enter the world of medieval Cairo, visiting the imposing hilltop Citadel and the splendid 19th century Mosque of Mohammed Ali, with its soaring dome and graceful minarets. Explore the Mosque and Madras of Sultan Hassan, one the finest examples of Mamluk architecture and the largest in the world. Then immerse yourself into the winding alleys of the Khan el Khalili Bazaar, the hub of everyday activity.

Head south of Cairo to step amongst the ruins of Memphis and gaze at the stepped pyramid of Zoser I at Sakkara, the oldest stone structure in the world. After a delightful lunch, visit the Great Sphinx and the pyramids of Cheops, Chephren and Mycerinus at Giza Plateau, exploring the interior of one Egypt pyramids followed by a scenic camel ride. Visit the Solar Boat Museum housing two funeral barges discovered in 1954.Be aware that a limited number of people are allowed inside the Grand Pyramids daily.

This morning you fly early to Luxor to board the NILE CRUISE, spending the next four nights afloat. Enjoy lunch on board and then step ashore to explore the great Karnak Temple. With tours skilled Egyptologist on hand, you’ll stand before its massive pillars and admire the Hypostyle Hall, the largest hall of any temple in the world. Nearby, the Luxor Temple was built in the 14th century BC and is connected to the Karnak complex by the awe-inspiring nearly 2-mile long Avenue of sphinxes.

Built in 1972, the High Dam at Aswan spans more than 2 miles and towers 300 feet! You’ll also visit the Temple of Philae, dedicated to Isis, and travel to the nearby granite quarry where the celebrated Unfinished Obelisk is still attached to bedrock. Experience a felucca cruise around the islands of Aswan, passing by the Botanical Gardens. Tonight’s farewell gala dinner.
